Recognizing the increasing questioning of society's role Dominican legislators, I felt the need to justify my proposal as a candidate for deputy of the District One of Santo Domingo East through a set of proposals and commitments that will be part of my legislative agenda.

These initial ideas are the basis of a public commitment to the social, political and territorial which seek to represent in Congress.

I also try to make a contribution to the content of the electoral debate, bringing to the fore some of the social problems that should be of interest to the citizens of Santo Domingo East and the country.

Among the ideas that already I have clear my schedule as part of commitment, advancement of the following themes:

Social leadership. Work to strengthen social cohesion and leadership of Santo Domingo as a step towards the formulation of local development agenda, with the participation of all sectors of the municipality.

Development Council. Promote the creation of the Development Council for Eastern Santo Domingo and identify the priorities of the municipality, acting as a legitimate interlocutor with local authorities, provincial and national levels.

Regional Centre UASD. To propose the allocation of budgetary resources for the construction of a regional center in Santo Domingo East UASD.

Government offices. Manage the construction of a series of buildings to house the main offices of the State in the municipality.

Ozama and Isabela rivers. Submit to the House of Representatives a resolution to declare Ozama and Isabela rivers in a state of disaster, a campaign to promote awareness of the importance of these resources and support to the Ministry of Environment to act with due severity against the companies and particular pollutant loads discharged into both rivers.

Sanitation ravines. Coordinate with community organizations, churches and authorities seeking a solution to the serious health problem of "La Cañada del Diablo" of Villa Duarte and La Cañada Benitez Felix Dam, promoting the adoption of measures to prevent them continue to place their pollution loads in the Rio Ozama.

Sans Souci tourist project. Pay particular attention to the Sans Souci tourist project, coordinating efforts to support implementation and streamline benefits referred to in its implementation. To guide and support the population of the municipality to be prepared to take advantage of the economic and employment opportunities of this project.

New name for the municipality. Consult representative sectors on whether or not to amend the law 163-01 to henceforth the name of the municipality is Santo Domingo East, instead of Santo Domingo, whose pronunciation is often confused with St. Dominic West.

Commitment to the newspaper industry. Take in Congress to defend press freedom and the practice of journalism and a commitment to provide, in coordination with the PSC, two bills: one to ensure the financial sustainability of the Institute of Welfare and Protection of Journalists (IPPP) and another to support the development of the provincial press.

Commitment to the municipality. Participate in all efforts to strengthen political and financial autonomy of municipalities and demand the right of law enforcement 176-07, which allocates 10 percent of revenues to local governments. Dominican municipalities currently receive only 6.1 percent of the resources they are entitled by law.

Commitment to tourism. Defending the strengthening and development of tourism and promote healthy legislative initiatives to encourage public and private investment in all regions of the country with tourist potential that can harness the leverage of the industry in all areas of development.

Commitment to education. Establish itself as a permanent spokesman claim that the law is effectively enforced organic Education delivery has 16 percent of the national budget or 4 percent of GDP to the education sector. Initiatives to promote or accompany the Society for Education is assumed as the main priority of the Dominican State.

Together we can!
